Important Things to Know
You can use your Vanilla Visa Gift Card immediately after purchase.
Know your card balance before you shop, as merchants cannot determine the balance on your card. If you try to purchase an item of greater value than your card balance, your card will be declined.
To purchase an item that costs more than the balance on your card you will need to use a second payment method, such as cash, check, or other credit or check card, for the difference. Let the cashier know how much you will pay with each type of payment when you make your purchase.
At the time of purchase, give the card to the cashier and sign the receipt or push "credit" on the keypad. Although it states "debit" on the front of the card, most gift cards do not come with a PIN, therefore your purchase will be declined if you push "debit".
Write down your card number and keep it in a safe place.
Remember to sign the back of your card.
You may want to refrain from using you Vanilla Visa card to pay at the pump and opt for going inside. When using pay at the pump a hold may be place on your funds for a period of time until the final charge is processed.
Please remember that when you are out for dinner and using you Vanilla Visa that the restaurant that if the bill is for $50 they will process a request for $60 in anticipation of a 20% tip. Thus if you have a $50 Vanilla Gift card the purchase will be declined.
Your Vanilla Visa Gift Card does not have ATM access.
It is recommended that you keep all receipts of purchases made with your Vanilla Visa Gift Card.
There are no cash refunds.
